Worried about exams

Exams are essential for all of us at some point in our lives. Mostly in our younger years but there are an increasing number of mature students who have taken the plunge to re train or have a career change.

Often due to unintentional preconditioning by those around us we anticipate that 'we can't' or 'we will get it wrong' or 'we are no good at exams' and so on. Often based on one bad experience or the repetition of negative self talk. I managed to prove all my GCSE teachers wrong who said ' you won't get past your 'A' levels' and I did go to university and achieved a BSC (Hons) degree all with the help of some confidence techniques I learnt through a hypnotherapist.

There are many ways to improve our learning skills, but if we are not able to get ourselves into that examination room with a calm and confident head on, maybe we are setting ourselves up to prove everyone right and fail! Failure can't help but make us feel sad. The same applies to competitive sports, theatre and stage performance. You could call all of these negative scenarios, stage fright. I used to suffer with this myself, Hypnotherapy helped me to succeed in OSCI exams a form of 1:1 practical exam where I suffered with stage fright and all I had learnt would leave me once the door shut, or so I thought.

The brain is very clever at learning negatives, it has to be to ensure we survive, and with a bit of retraining we can turn this around and make this process work for us, rather than against.

Solution focused hypnotherapy is a great way to turn the negatives into positives and to make it a permanent change in attitude. If you want to do well you are in the right place.
